Gaming Pro Guide
What is Polling Rate?
It's how often your mouse reports its position to your computer. 1000Hz means data is sent every 1 millisecond. Higher rates mean lower input lag.
Common Benchmarks
Most competitive mice today are 1000Hz (standard). Ultra-premium mice reach 4000Hz or 8000Hz, though this requires a high-refresh monitor to feel the difference.
Why isn't it hitting the max?
You must move the mouse very quickly to force it to report at its maximum rate. If you move slowly, Windows may consolidate reports to save CPU.
Technical Accuracy
This tool uses the high-resolution performance.now() API to measure microsecond intervals between mouse events. Note that browser engines (especially Chrome) may cap mouse reporting to your monitor's refresh rate (e.g., 60Hz or 144Hz) in some environments.
